UPPER BRIEF
* Adapt the C-Skate upper for the El Rey tooling.
*Take inspiration from early 2000s skate shoes with extra padding in the collar & tongue, and extra wide laces
TOOLING BRIEF*
* Design a cupsole tooling that replicates the look of a vulcanized sole.
* Include a heel bumper piece that may be separately molded for split rubber options and future iterations.
*Tooling blueprint was completed with the assistance of Senior Designer Tom Rudnick
An emphasis was placed on comfort that was visible at a glance. Wider laces and a puffy tongue were inspired by old school skate style. The throwback features were combined with a more contemporary last shape.
Amazon reviews may not exactly be the best source of information, but I get great gratification in seeing happy testimonials about comfort and value.
